A museum dedicated to the iconic Colombian artist. You’ll find many of his greatest works on display here. Admission is free, and the museum has a charming little central courtyard. I recommend it for art lovers, but also for anyone else looking to take a stroll.

Beautiful museum, featuring a lot of artwork, notably those of Fernando Botero, the largest artist to come from Colombia. His style is fun and approachable, while also thought provoking. One of his conditions in opening the museum was for it to always be free for visitors, as everyone should have the right to access art. Fantastic!

If in Bogota, the Botero museum, housed at the traditional Mint, near Plaza Bolivar, is a must stop. The museum not only houses many of Fernando Botero’s work that was donated by him to the govt, but also houses expositions with frequent changes to the exhibits. The Mint itself is an interesting exploration in history, and grouping the historical with the modern art is a great experience. If tired and in need of a small rest, there is a nice cafe in one of the courtyards. Did I mention entrance is free ??

This is a great little stop off during a trip to La Candelaria. It's a cozy museum with some unique and interesting pieces in a wonderful setting. Besides Botero they have a few works from some big names, Monet, Rembrandt, Cezanne, Picasso. And the Botero pieces are whimsical and fun.

You can see tons of artists from of course Botero’s own collection as well as Alexander Calder, Picasso, Sophia Vari, Henry Moore, Richard Estes, Salvador Dali, Pierre Bonnard, Claude Monet all for free. You can also access other museums within the museum grounds. Such a beautiful place. There is also a cafe and restaurant within.
